Last Resort is a Jacksonville-born indie rock band rooted in brotherhood, authenticity, and emotional connection.
Formed in 2023 by four high school friends who simply wanted to play music together, the project quickly became something deeper. Especially for frontman and founder Jacob Skidmore.
What began as an outlet soon turned into a defining pursuit, shaping both his creative voice and his sense of purpose.
Jacob first met drummer Jackson Moser in 2019, and the two began writing together in 2022. After parting ways with another band, they built Last Resort from the ground up, with Jackson even learning drums specifically to help bring the vision to life.
Jacob’s older brother Tim, originally serving as the band’s manager, stepped in on bass when founding bassist Sam Lewis moved to London for university. What could have been a setback instead reinforced the band’s foundation: loyalty, adaptability, and belief in the music.
Since then, Last Resort has grown into a relatable and heartfelt live act driven by one goal: to make people feel something real. In an interview with UNF’s Spinnaker Radio, Jacob reflected on the shift in their mindset: “We used to write just for fun… but over time we’ve found ourselves wanting our music to give people the strength to feel vulnerable.” That intention now sits at the core of the band’s identity. Not just writing songs, but creating space for honesty, both on stage and off.

Jacob Skidmore is the frontman and one of the founding members of Last Resort. He has been writing music since 2020 and is the main creative force behind Last Resort. Jacob is a multi-instrumentalist with a deep love for all kinds of music, and has said "there isn't a second of the day where music isn't going in my head."
He attributes his style to the likes of The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Supertramp, and Lynyrd Skynyrd, with a mix of contemporary sting from bands like The Backseat Lovers, Mustard Service, Tame Impala, and more. Jacob is primarily a guitarist, and doesn't shy away from throwing a guitar solo in anywhere that seems fit.
Jacob is also an award winning composer, having done scoring work for student films that have been shown in film festivals all over the American circuit.

Jackson is the golden retriever drummer of Last Resort, rumored to have been put behind the drum kit to "get all that energy out", Jackson actually learned how to play the drums from scratch to be in Last Resort, and continue writing songs with Jacob.
In almost no time at all, Jackson quickly became an unstoppable force behind the kit. In an interview with UNF's spinnaker radio, Jacob said the following about Jackson's prowess. "He very quickly, almost scarily, went from zero, to one of the best drummers i've ever gotten to see play live."
Jackson is currently in college, studying theater, as he is an award winning actor, with ample experience on the stage in the theater world. Having gone to the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts to receive an award for "Outstanding Performance In A Play" for his role in "Streetlight Woodpecker"
Jackson is the emotional glue of the group, always down for anything, he has become a sort of psuedo-mascot for the band. If HE says no to something, nobody will do it.
His musical partnership with Jacob is and has been the driving force of Last Resort. They are the only founding members remaining in the band, and have been writing together for years.

Tim is the former manager and current rhythm guitarist of the group. After spending a generous two years as the band's bassist, he was given the opportunity to go back to the instrument of his choice, (and the instrument he spent 11 years playing before joining the band) guitar.
In the early days of Last Resort, Tim co-managed the band with Jacob, overseeing some booking, PR, merch stuff, etc. But after the departure of original bassist Sam for London in August of 2023, Tim took over on bass, and has remained in the lineup since.
Tim has a unique approach to music, especially playing live. Pure feel. You won't find him practicing nearly as much as Jackson and Jacob (much to their dismay), but he arguably produces the most emotional performances on their records and during their live shows.
Tim acts sort of like an advisor to the band, a level headed second set of eyes for Jacob and Jackson's most of the time insane ideas. But despite his "realistic" nature, he has a deep love for the music and is willing to try next to anything for it.
